Current aviation colour code: YELLOW
Previous aviation colour code: green
Source: KVERT
Notice Number: 2022-178
Volcano Location: N 56 deg 3 min E 160 deg 38 min
Area: Kamchatka, Russia
Summit Elevation: 4750 m (15580 ft)
Volcanic Activity Summary:
According to the video data by KVERT, the Strombolian type of an explosive eruption of Klyuchevskoy volcano began to observing from 11:30 UTC on 17 November, 2022, and such activity continues. The appearance of a new thermal anomaly over the volcano was noted on 13 November, and the temperature of the thermal anomaly began increasing from 17 November, and this continues. The strong gas-steam plume is extending to the southeast of the volcano at now.
KVERT continues to monitor the Klyuchevskoy volcano.
A moderate explosive eruption of the volcano continues. Ash explosions up to 5-6 km (16,400-19,700 ft) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft.

Special Report No. 5
WARNING. As intermittent explosions and outgassing continue in the San Miguel Volcano, it is called upon to be vigilant and not to carry out activities in the vicinity of its central crater.
Date and time of broadcast: November 20, 2022, 11:00:00.
The San Miguel volcano continues to record intermittent explosions, gas and water vapor emanations, with the probability of generating interruptions in the activities carried out near its crater.
According to the follow-up of the seismicity, the gas concentration and the characteristics of the ash collected, this activity will continue during the following days. Therefore, it is called to PAY ATTENTION mainly to residents of the municipalities of San Jorge, Chinameca, San Rafael Oriente and sectors near the volcano in the municipality of San Miguel.
Since Tuesday, November 15, the San Miguel volcano, through its central crater, has exhibited intermittent explosions, accompanied by gas, ash and abundant water vapor. The total number of explosions recorded is 62 to date, with a daily average of 10. The average height reached by the explosions was around 500 meters. However, the highest explosions, around 1100 meters, occurred on Friday the 18th at 1:36 p.m.; and Saturday 19 at 12:06 p.m.
Seismicity:
Variations in seismicity recorded by the Volcanic Station of San Miguel (VSM) indicate that currently the count of daily earthquakes retains its typical behavior; no intensification is observed in its internal processes.
Figure 1. Seismic recording of the VSM station.
Due to its historical records, the San Miguel volcano is characterized by this type of activity, classified as Strombolian and characterized by explosions, generally not very violent, accompanied by hot mixtures of gas, ash and rock fragments.

Current Volcano Alert Level: ADVISORY
Current Aviation Color Code: YELLOW
Panorama of Takawangha volcano, Tanaga Island, as seen from the west.
The ongoing earthquake swarm near Takawangha volcano waxed and waned in intensity over the past day. The earthquakes are generally shallow, having preliminary depths of about 2 to 4 miles (3 to 6 km) below sea level. This activity may be due to the movement of magma beneath the volcano. No eruptive activity has been detected in satellite views or other monitoring data.
