Hawaii , Kilauea :

19°25’16 » N 155°17’13 » W,
Summit Elevation 4091 ft (1247 m)
Current Volcano Alert Level: WATCH
Current Aviation Color Code: ORANGE

Activity Summary:
The summit eruption of Kīlauea Volcano, within Halemaʻumaʻu crater, continued over the past 24 hours. All recent activity has been confined to the crater, and there are no indications of activity migrating elsewhere on Kīlauea.

Halemaʻumaʻu crater Lava Lake Observations:
Eruption of lava from the western vent into the active lava lake (approximately 2.3% of the crater floor surface) and onto the crater floor continued over the past 24 hours. The active part of the lava lake showed continuous surface activity and the lake level continued to rise slightly. The active end of the lava lake rose about 1 m over the past 24 hours. Small ooze outs along the northwestern, eastern, and southeastern lake margin were observed. Since the beginning of this eruption on September 29, 2021, the crater floor has seen a total rise of about 99 meters (325 feet). The volume of lava effused since the beginning of this eruption was approximately 66 million cubic meters (18 billion gallons) as measured on April 6, 2022.

Summit Observations:
Summit tiltmeters continued the inflationary trend until around 3 am. A deflationary trend was observed between 3 am and 7 am, but tilt is currently back to an inflationary trend. Volcanic tremor remains above background levels levels. A sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission rate of approximately 1,300 tonnes per day (t/d) was measured on April 8, 2022.

Colombia , Cumbal :

Cumbal Volcanic Complex Weekly Activity Bulletin

The activity of the Cumbal Volcanic Complex continues in: YELLOW LEVEL ■ (III): CHANGES IN THE BEHAVIOR OF VOLCANIC ACTIVITY.

From monitoring the activity of the CUMBAL VOLCANIC COMPLEX (CVC), the COLOMBIAN GEOLOGICAL SERVICE (SGC) reports that:

For the period between March 29 and April 4, 2022, the seismic occurrence showed a slight increase compared to the previous week. However, since these events are generally low energy, the seismic energy released has decreased by an order of magnitude. The fracture events were located in a scattered manner in the zone of influence of the CVC, at distances of up to 16 km, at depths less than 6 km compared to the height of the crater La Plazuela (4700 m of altitude) and with a maximum local magnitude of 0.7.

The favorable climatic conditions allowed the recording of the surface activity throughout the week evaluated, with columns of white gases, of low height and variable dispersion due to the action of the winds, emitted from the adventitious crater El Verde northeast of the CVC and Los Rastrojos, Boca Vieja and other fumarolic fields of the active Mundo Nuevo cone southwest of the CVC. No significant variation was observed in the other geophysical and geochemical parameters of volcanic monitoring.

Ecuador , Reventador :

DAILY REPORT OF THE STATE OF THE REVENTADOR VOLCANO, Sunday April 10, 2022.
Information Geophysical Institute – EPN.

Surface Activity Level: High, Surface Trend: No change.
Internal activity level: Moderate, Internal trend: No change.

Seismicity: From April 09, 2022, 11:00 a.m. to April 10, 2022, 11:00 a.m.:
Explosion (EXP) 43
Long Periods (LP) 65
Emission Tremors (TREMI) 17
Harmonic Tremors (TRARM) 9

Rains / Lahars:
Moderate rain was reported last night, according to information provided by the SOTE guardian of the Reventador region.

Emission / ash column:
Gas and ash emissions were observed up to 1000 meters above the level of the crater in a west and northwest direction. The Washington VAAC reported ash emissions up to 988 meters above the summit looking west.

Other Monitoring Parameters:
No thermal anomaly has been recorded in the last 24 hours.

Gas:
The MOUNTS system has not reported any SO2 readings in the last 24 hours.

Observation:
The area of the volcano was partially cleared from late afternoon yesterday until early morning today. At night, an incandescence was observed in the crater. The lava flow descending the northeast flank continues to be active. For the moment the volcano remains cloudy

Alert level: Orange.

Guatemala , Santiaguito :

Weather conditions: Clear weather
Wind: North at 14 km/h
Precipitation: 0.6 mm.

Activity:
The observatory of the Santa María-Santiaguito volcanic complex reports a moderate degassing column 600 meters above the crater and the descent of weak to moderate avalanches from lava flows on the western and southwest flanks. The collapses at the front of the lava flow at the top of the San Isidro ravine raise columns of ash up to 300 meters high and produce boulder avalanches, so do not stay inside or near said ravine. During the night and early in the morning, a constant incandescence was observed in the Caliente dome. Due to the dispersal of ash from avalanches, ashfall may occur on Loma Linda. Extruder activity remains at a high level and continues to unstably pile material on the west flank lava flow as well as on the Caliente Dome, thus maintaining the possibility that some of this material may collapse and disintegrate generating long-distance pyroclastic flows to the South-West, South and East. The recommendations of bulletins BESAN 003-2022 and BVE-016-2022 remain in force.

Italy , Campi Flegrei :

Lake Averno, in the Campi Flegrei, has turned red. It changed color towards the end of March.

This phenomenon – whose (media) visibility is increasing nowadays also because it happened « near » the area where a very slow bradyseism is in progress, with seismic activity – is NOT related to the same bradyseism or other volcanic phenomena.

This is a seasonal, transient, quite frequent phenomenon (last year too), due to the proliferation of certain types of algae and the eutrophication of the lake in conjunction with certain climatic conditions. This ends up giving the water that reddish-brown color.
The INGV-OV researchers have published statements in this regard on various national newspapers, as has Arpac, and the INGV intends to repeat it also with this post: the change in color of Lake Averno is certainly not a phenomenon related to volcanic activity.
