Agung , Indonesia :

On the basis of the results of the visual and instrumental data analysis and considering the potential threats of danger, on November 27, 2017 at 06:00, the status of G. Agung was raised from Level III (SIAGA) to Level IV (AWAS) . Since yesterday and until today visually the volcano is clearly visible until the appearance of the mist. White, thick, medium pressure gray ash is about 1000 to 200 m above the summit and inclines to the west and north. At night, the glow of the incandescent lava in the crater of the volcano is observed.

Seismograph records as of December 17, 2017 have noted:
2 distant tectonic earthquakes
1 shallow volcanic earthquakes (VB)
6 deep volcanic earthquakes (VA)
3 local tectonic earthquakes.
No earthquakes of eruption.
6 Low Frequency events.
44 emission earthquakes.
No harmonic tremor.
A continuous tremor with an amplitude of 1 to 2 mm and a dominant value of 1 mm.

As of December 18, 2017 (00:00 to 18:00) it has been registered:
12 emission earthquakes
No earthquakes of eruption.
3 low frequency earthquakes.
3 shallow volcanic earthquakes (VB)
1 deep volcanic earthquake (VA)
No local tectonic earthquakes.
No harmonic tremor.
A continuous tremor with an amplitude of 1 to 2 mm and a dominant value of 1 mm.

Recommendations:
Communities around G. Agung and mountaineers / visitors / tourists must not climb, climb or do any activity in the danger zone around the G. Agung crater area and in all areas within 8 km from the crater of G. Agung. With a sectoral extension to the North-East and South-East-South-South-West up to 10 km from the crater of G. Agung. The estimated area risks are dynamic and continuously assessed and can be modified at any time based on the most recent observational data from G. Agung.
Level IV (AWAS) is only valid for a radius of 8 to 10 km as mentioned above. Outside the activity area, everything can work like NORMAL and always SAFE

Volcanic Activity Summary:
Activity of the volcano gradually increases. According to videodata by RAS, hot avalanches at the southeastern flank of the lava dome were observing last several hours – probably an extrusive eruption of the volcano occurrs. Strong ash explosions up to 10-15 km a.s.l. could occur at any time. KVERT continues to monitor Bezymianny volcano.

Activity of the volcano gradually increases. Strong ash explosions up to 32,800-49,200 ft (10-15 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft.

Location: 14 ° 28’54˝ Latitude N; 90 ° 52’54˝ Longitude W.
Height: 3,763msnm.
Weather conditions: Clear
Wind: South 6 Km / h
Precipitation: 0.0 mm.

Activity:
Presence of gray degassing fumaroles at an altitude of 4400 meters, dispersing to the southwest. There are 4-6 moderate-to-high explosions per hour, expelling gray ash plumes at an altitude of 4500-4800 meters (14,765 -15,420 ft) that disperse 12-15 km to the west and southwest. . Incandescent pulses 150 to 200 meters high generate low to moderate avalanches on the crater contour. Explosions are accompanied by low to moderate rumblings with weak shock waves. The result of the explosions is visible by the fall of fine particles of ashes in the areas of Panimache I and II, Morelia, Santa Sophia, Sangre de Christo, Palo Verde finca, Yepocapa and some others.
