Subject: Cumbal Volcano Activity Bulletin.
The level of activity of the volcano is maintained at the level:
YELLOW LEVEL ■ (III): CHANGES IN THE BEHAVIOR OF VOLCANIC ACTIVITY
Following the activity of the CUMBAL VOLCANIC COMPLEX, the COLOMBIAN GEOLOGICAL SERVICE informs that:
For the evaluation period between November 7 and 13, 2017 seismic event levels similar to those observed in the previous weeks are maintained, with a total of 344 events and the prevalence of earthquakes related to fluid movements. Most of the time, fracture-type seismicity is located in La Plazuela Crater (North of the Cumbal Volcanic Complex), at depths of 0.6 to 10 km, and epicentral distances between 0.1 and 8 km. The earthquake that occurred on November 11 at 16:30, and located 3.9 km east-southeast of the volcanic complex, with a local magnitude of 2.7 on the Richter scale, was reported as felt by the inhabitants of the village of La Ortiga.
Favorable climatic conditions on the volcano made it possible to record the gas emissions for 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 November, mainly from the El Verde fumarole fields in the North-East and Rastrojos in the South-West of the volcanic complex. The emission columns were observed white, of variable height and of direction of dispersion dispersed by action of the wind.
The COLOMBIAN GEOLOGICAL SERVICE is attentive to the evolution of the volcanic phenomenon and will continue to inform in a timely manner about the detected changes.

Popocatépetl , Mexico :
November 16, 11:00 am (November 16, 17:00 GMT).
Over the last 24 hours, using seismic monitoring systems of the Popocatepetl volcano, 170 low intensity exhalations accompanied by vapor and gas have been identified, the largest recorded this morning at 08:06 h, whose column height was less than 1 km, with a low ash content dispersed in a southwesterly direction.
In addition, yesterday, a volcano-tectonic earthquake was recorded at 16:39 with a magnitude of M1.5.
In addition, during yesterday afternoon and today morning, 161 minutes of harmonic tremors of low amplitude were recorded.
At the time of writing, no significant changes have been observed in any of the monitoring parameters of the volcano.
CENAPRED asked not to approach the volcano and in particular the crater, because of the risk of projectiles falling, and in case of heavy rain to stay far from the bottom of the ravines because of the danger of landslides and of mudslides.
The volcanic alert signaling semaphore of the Popocatepetl volcano is located in Amarillo Phase 2

Sinabung , Indonesia :
Level of activity Level 4 (AWAS). The Sinabung (2460 m altitude) since yesterday until this morning was visually observed clear until the appearance of fog. The smoke from the crater is observed, rising from 50 to 200m, dispersed by the wind towards the Southeast, South, Southwest and West. Thanks to the recording of the seismographs, it was recorded 4 eruptions / emissions. The gray columns rise visually at altitudes of 700 to 2500 m. The eruptions are not accompanied by hot clouds. It was recorded 57 earthquake of lava landslide with a sliding distance of 1000 to 2500m to the East and Southeast.
Communities / visitors should not do activities within 3 km of the summit, and by sector, 7 km south-southeast, 6 km east-southeast, and 4 km away. to North-east.
The ash deposits have formed a dam on the Laborus River and people living in downstream river basins need to maintain vigilance because these dams can collapse at any time and no longer hold back the volume of water, with for downstream results, lahars / floods.

Daily report on the state of volcanoes Turrialba, Poás, and Rincón de la Vieja: 16 November 2017
Updated at 11:30 am
The seismic activity of the last 24 hours has been characterized by the recording of intermittent low amplitude and short duration volcanic tremor signals, as well as frequent low frequency (LP long period) volcanic earthquakes also short amplitudes. and duration. These signals are associated with continuous and persistent degassing through the western crater of the Turrialba volcano. The plume of water vapor, magmatic gases and fine aerosols emitted into the atmosphere remained at a height not exceeding 500 meters above the top of the volcano.
Small amounts of ash are emitted sporadically, but no cases of ash fall have been reported. The prevailing winds scatter the plume materials mainly to the South-Southeast. At night, we continue to observe strong radiation in the western crater, indicating a significant flow of heat and volcanic fluids at temperatures of at least 500 degrees Celsius. Between 13 and 15 November in the areas east of San José (Guadalupe) and Heredia (San Rafael, San Pablo, Santo Domingo) it has been reported by several people the perception of a strong smell of sulfur. According to the records of the Chemical and Meteorological Monitoring sensors of the OVSICORI Station located in Coronado San José, the sulphurous gases felt by the villagers come these days from the two volcanoes, Turrialba and Poas.
The level of seismic activity of Poas is very low and is at the level of instrumental and environmental noise (Wind, rain, lightning, anthropic noise, etc.)
The holes in the bottom of the crater continue the vigorous degassing of a plume rich in water vapor, gas and particles of fine magmatic rocks and minerals. The low level of seismic activity indicates a system of conduits, cracks and cavities, where the fluids are transported, sufficiently open, which facilitates degassing.
The plume of Poas has a height between 500 m and less than 1000 meters from the bottom of the crater. Winds disperse volcanic plume materials to South-South-East
There is no report of ash drop or smell perception of sulfur.
Rincón de la Vieja Volcano:
No recorded volcanic seismic activity . A diffuse plume of water vapor and gas emitted by the active crater, which rises between 100 and 300 meters above the summit of El Rincón, is often observed.
