Explosive activity during this week has increased, averaging 57 explosions a day. The activity of Tremor (ash emissions) is recorded on average 2 hours per day. On the other hand, although in smaller numbers, the predominance of earthquakes related to the movement of fluids (Long Period type) continues. The events that indicate the rise of the magma (type Hybrids) have decreased in number.
The eruptive columns of gas and ash remained similar to the previous week, reaching a maximum height of about 3800 m above the crater. The dispersion of these materials occurred within a radius of about 40 km, mainly in the North, Northeast and East directions.
Monitoring of the deformation of the GNSS station and SBSE during the last period did not show any significant changes in the deformation.
The volcanic gas (SO2) flux recorded on 30 October had a maximum value of 3996 tonnes / day, a value considered large.
Five thermal anomalies were recorded according to the MIROVA system, with values between 2 MW and 23 MW VRP (Irradiated Volcano Power).
The eruptive activity showed an increase compared to the previous week and it is possible that this behavior will continue in the coming days.

The National Service of Geology and Mining (Sernageomin) announces the following information, obtained through the monitoring teams of the National Volcanic Surveillance Network treated and analyzed at the Volcanological Observatory of the South Andes, data interpretation center from Sernageomin:
On Sunday, November 05, 2017 at 20:32 local time (23:32 GMT), the monitoring stations installed near the Volcanic Complex Planchón Peteroa recorded one (1) earthquake associated with rock fracturing (Volcano-Tectonics), the event was located 6.5 km east (E) of the main crater.
The location of the largest event obtained was as follows:
TIME ORIGIN: 20:32 HL (GMT -3)
LATITUDE: 35 ° 13’47.40 « S
LONGITUDE: 70 ° 30’17.40 « W
DEPTH: 5.96 Km
LOCAL MAGNITUDE: M 3.5
At the time of this report, no other events were recorded before or after the VT event. There is no report from the authorities or the community in general about perceptions in neighboring areas.
The volcanic technical alert remains yellow.
The SERNAGEOMIN – OVDAS continues with online monitoring, and will report in a timely manner on possible changes in volcanic activity in the region.

During this period, 1606 seismic events, of which 93 were classified as volcano-tectonic events (VT), processes related to the fracturing of rigid materials, with local maximum amplitudes (ML) of M of 2.7 were recorded. The strongest earthquake was 7.8 km south-southeast (SSE) of the active crater at a depth of 5.4 km.
Similarly, 1513 earthquakes associated with fluid dynamics inside the volcano were recorded. Of these, 1507 were considered as Long Period (LP) events, with a small maximum offset (DRC) value of 18.5 cm2. In addition, six tremor events (TR) were recorded, with a reduced displacement value of up to 2.6 cm2.
From 16 to 31 October, there were a total of two explosions associated with ash emissions and / or recording of a series of sounds captured by the network of microphones installed near the volcano, in continuation of the explosive phase that presents this volcano since the beginning of 2016. The explosion that emitted the most seismic energy was recorded on October 27 at 00:24 (local time) and was associated with an earthquake that had a reduced displacement value of 2 , 6 cm2.
The images obtained through the cameras installed near the volcanic complex showed mainly fumaroles associated with emissions of water vapor and ash (in the case of explosions), coming from the craters currently active, with a height of column 2000 m from the crater level.
According to data provided by GNSS stations operating on the volcanic building, deformations due to changes in volcano morphology are not observed. Similarly, the data provided by the inclinometer stations show stable positions over time.
No sulfur dioxide (SO 2) emissions in the volcanic complex sector have been reported, according to data published by the ozone monitoring instrument, OMI Sulfur Dioxide Group (http: //so2.gsfc. nasa.gov/) and NESDIS (http://satepsanoine.nesdis.noaa.gov).
No thermal alerts reported on the volcanic complex based on data processed by infrared, means of observation of volcanic activity (Mirova) (http://www.mirovaweb.it/) and near real-time monitoring of thermal hot spots Global (MODVOLC) (http://modis.higp.hawaii.edu/).
During the second half of October, decreased explosive activity that is apparently associated with the interaction of a small amount of magma that reacts with the surface hydrothermal system, which destabilizes and induces smaller explosions with a subsequent emission of material to the surface, recorded in a pulsating manner. The current scenario is likely to continue this process with the generation of similar or higher explosions than those recorded.
Due to the above, the Volcanic Technical Alert is maintained at:
YELLOW LEVEL: Changes in the behavior of volcanic activity – likely time for an Eruption: weeks / months.
Note: It is recommended to apply precautionary restrictions on access to an area close to the crater with a radius of 3 kilometers.

Bulletin of Tuesday, November 7, 2017 – earthquake of tectonic origin felt.
On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, 10:39 AM (local time – 6:39 UTC), an earthquake was felt by islanders, mainly in the north.
This earthquake was recorded by the seismometers of the Volcanological Observatory of Piton de la Fournaise. The first analyzes of this earthquake made it possible to locate it, 7 km below sea level in the Roche Ecrite sector (north of the island). Its magnitude was measured at 2 on the Richter scale.
This type of event, felt by the population is recorded several times a year. This event is isolated and is of tectonic origin. At present, this earthquake has not been followed by replicas.
This event is independent of the one recorded and felt last November 4th (located in the south of the island).

VMGD update, Ambae volcano activity, 05.11.2017 at 07:58PM.
Seismic activity and webcam photos shows that the ongoing minor eruption activity with continue emission of volcanic cloud and incondescent explosions at night which can be heard and seen from neighboring islands. Alert level still remain at Level 3.
