Agung , Indonesia :
Based on the results of the visual and instrumental data analysis and considering the potential threats of danger, on November 27, 2017 at 06:00, the status of G. Agung was raised from Level III (Standby) to Level IV (Awas) . Since yesterday, visually the volcano is clearly visible until the appearance of the mist. Gray and thick smoke reaches a height of about 1500 to 2000 m above the summit with a west-southwest inclination. At 17:25, the eruption column and the height of the plume were not observed because the mountain was covered with mist.
The recording of the seismographs on November 29, 2017 made it possible to note:
23 shallow volcanic earthquakes (VB)
9 volcanic earthquakes (VA)
1 local tectonic earthquake
4 distant tectonic earthquakes
1 earthquake emission
Continuous tremor with an amplitude of 1 to 24 mm and a dominant at 2 mm. A tremor « off scale » was recorded from 17: 29 until 18:21 WITA.
Recommendations:
Communities around G. Agung and climbers / visitors / tourists must not climb and do activities in the danger zone around the crater of G. Agung and in all areas within a radius of 8 km around the crater. A sectoral extension has been added north-northeast and south-east-south-south-west up to 10 km from the crater of G. Agung. The estimated area risks are dynamic and continuously assessed and can be modified at any time based on the most recent observational data.

AMLAPURA, BALIPOST.com – The seismic and volcanic activity of Gunung Agung over the last 24 hours has further increased compared to the previous day. If the previous seismicity had occurred ten times, the last 24 hours, the seismicity has increased to 32 events.
While the last six hours, between 00.00 and 06.00, there have been recorded 5 volcanic earthquakes. Kamil Devy Syahbana, head of the eastern khat mitigation sub-division, explains that seismic-volcanic activity has increased compared to the previous day.
« Now the tremor is continuous, this continuous tremor indicates that the event still exists, and the eruption trend is still ongoing, » said Syahbana.
He explained that these volcanic earthquakes indicate the growth of lava in the crater. And until that moment, he is still following the development of Mount Agung’s activity.
Following the felt earthquake of M 3.1, Devy indicates that he is linked to Gunung Agung’s activity. (Eka Parananada / Balipost)

Nevado del Ruiz , Colombia :
Subject: Activity bulletin of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano.
The level of activity continues at the level: Activity level Yellow or (III): changes in the behavior of volcanic activity.
With regard to monitoring the activity of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano, the COLOMBIAN GEOLOGICAL SERVICE informs that:
During the last week, the various monitoring parameters show that the Nevado del Ruiz volcano continues to display unstable behavior.
The seismicity caused by the fracturing of the rocks that make up the volcano showed an increase in the release of seismic energy and a decrease in the number of earthquakes during the week, compared to the previous one. The earthquakes were mainly located in the northeastern sectors, about 2.5 km from the crater and southeast, about 2.6 km from the crater. Similarly, localized seismic activity has been present in the Southwest and in the crater. The depths of the earthquakes ranged between 0.4 and 7.2 km. The maximum magnitude recorded during the week was 2.4 ML (Local Magnitude) for the November 27 earthquake at 17:02 local time, located 2.6 km southeast of Arenas Crater, at a depth of 3.6 km.
The seismic activity associated with the dynamics of the fluids in the volcanic structure showed a similar behavior, in number of recording and released seismic energy, compared to the previous week. This type of activity is mainly characterized by the occurrence of multiple fluid earthquakes, long-period type and very long period, as well as pulses of tremor. The earthquakes were located mainly in the vicinity of the crater of Arenas.
Volcanic deformation measured from electronic inclinometers, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) stations and radar images, shows stability behavior .No significant processes of deformation of the volcanic structure were noted.
The volcano continues to emit water vapor and gases into the atmosphere, including sulfur dioxide (SO2), as evidenced by the values obtained by the SCANDOAS stations installed in the volcano and the analysis of images satellites. In the follow-up of the information provided by the MIROVA and NASA FIRMS portals, several thermal anomalies were recorded in the vicinity of the Arenas crater.
The column of gas and steam reached a maximum height of 1800 m measured on the summit of the volcano on 25 November. The direction of the dispersion of the column was governed by the direction of the wind in the area, which during the week prevailed to the southwest and northwest relative to the crater Arenas.
The Nevado del Ruiz volcano continues at the level of yellow activity.

Slight changes in water and gas composition of the Crater Lake (Te Wai Ā-Moe) at Mt Ruapehu

Volcanic Alert BulletinRUA – 2017/02
2017-11-28 16:30:00 +1300 +1300; Ruapehu Volcano
Volcanic Alert Level remains at 1
Aviation Colour Code remains at Green
Measured changes in crater lake water and gas composition confirm the slightly elevated level of activity at Mt Ruapehu. The lake temperature (37ºC) and the level of seismic tremor remain unchanged. The Volcanic Alert Level remains at 1.
The Crater lake (Te Wai Ā-Moe) was visited to sample water and gas on 10 and 17 November 2017. The results from the analyses show a slight increase in Chloride, Sulphate and Magnesium concentrations, and CO-CO2 gas ratio. These changes are consistent with the increase in CO2, SO2 and H2S emission rates measured on 23 November and the sustained high lake temperature (~37ºC) reported in our latest bulletin on Saturday 25 November 2017.
The increase in concentration of these chemical elements, higher gas output and a sustained high lake temperature all suggest a more open pathway for the volcanic gases from depth to the surface. These increases are common in periods of higher lake temperature and have been observed in the past outside eruptive periods. Volcanic seismic tremor is currently at moderate to low levels. Further sampling of the Crater Lake and a gas measurement flight are planned as weather allows. As weather cleared out overnight, a small steam plume was visible this morning above the crater lake at Ruapehu. Such steam plumes are to be expected due to the current combination of higher lake temperature, gas emissions and atmospheric humidity.
GNS Science continues to closely monitor Mt Ruapehu and our other active volcanoes through the GeoNet project. The Volcanic Alert Level of Ruapehu remains at 1 and the Aviation Colour Code at Green.
