Sakurajima , ( Aira ) , Japan :
The Kagoshima Local Weather Observatory indicates that the Showa crater of the Sakurajima erupted on the morning of May 2 at 3 hours and 20 minutes. The height of the plume was announced to have reached the 4000 meters above the crater. After this succession of eruptions, the ashes fell on the city. The ash swirled through the streets every time a car passed, people were forced to wear a mask, with an umbrella to avoid the ashes.
According to the Meteorological Observatory, on the same day, a total of five eruptions were observed before noon.
The Sakurajima had not experienced an explosive eruption since last year, at the end of July. The activity resumed on April 28, recently with a first eruption. The Japan Meteorological Agency continues to maintain the eruption warning level at 3.

Nevado Del Ruiz , Colombia :
Weekly activity bulletin of the volcano Nevado del Ruiz, from April 25 to May 2, 2017.
The level of activity continues: at the level of yellow (III) activity: changes in the behavior of volcanic activity.
As regards the monitoring of the activity of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano, the Colombian Geological Survey reports that:
Over the past week, the various monitoring parameters show that the Nevado del Ruiz volcano continues to show unstable behavior.
The seismicity caused by fracturing the rock under the volcano, showed an increase in the number of earthquakes and seismic energy released compared to the previous week. An increase in activity on April 27, from 18:56 to 13:20 on April 28 (local time) stands out. This seismicity was located in the northern zone, at depths between 4 and 6.5 km, the maximum amplitude of increase and week was 2.2 ML (local magnitude), recorded on April 28 At 10:44 am (local time) at a depth of 4.4 km. The seismicity of the week was mainly in the northern zone and to a lesser extent in the South-West, South-East, Northeast and Arenas craters. The depths of the earthquakes ranged from 0.4 to 7.1 km.
As regards the seismic activity associated with the dynamics of the fluids in the volcanic structure, this one maintained energy levels similar to those of the previous week. This type of activity is mainly characterized by the presence of several fluid earthquakes, long-term and very long-period events and tremor pulses with varying energy levels and durations. Some of these seismic signals have been associated with emissions of gases and ash into the atmosphere, as confirmed by the images captured by the cameras installed in the volcano area and by reports from Los Nevados National Park officials and Of the Colombian Geological Survey who were working on the ground. The recording of seismic signals of this type, with higher energy levels that may be associated with emissions of gas and ash is not ruled out. It is important to remember that the ash emission processes can occur for several days and sometimes several times during the day, without involving an individual report for each episode.
Volcanic deformation, measured from electronic inclinometers, of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) and satellite imagery to determine changes in inclination, position and shape of the volcano continues to record over a deflationary process and intermittent inflation / deflationary impulses, possibly linked to gas and ash emissions.
The volcano continues to emit significant amounts of water vapor and gases, including sulfur dioxide (SO2), as shown by the values obtained by the SCANDOAS stations installed in the zone of analysis of the volcano And satellite images. In the tracking information provided by the FIRMS portal Mírová and NASA, a low-energy thermal anomaly was identified on 28 April.
The column of gas, steam and ash from time to time reached a maximum height of 1200 m measured on the top of the volcano on 26 April. The direction of dispersal of the column was in line with the direction of the wind in the region, which predominated during the week towards the Northwest and Southwest of the volcano.
The volcano Nevado del Ruiz continues to activity level Amarillo.

Sabancaya , Peru :
The explosive activity decreased slightly, reaching an average of 33 explosions per day and a maximum displacement of 108 cm2.
The events associated with the uplift of magmatic materials (hybrid earthquakes) continue to occur in smaller numbers. For their part, events associated with magma movements (long-term earthquakes) have decreased. On 30/04/17 there were recorded up to 6 VT-type in swarms, of magnitude between M3,2 and M4,6, located less than 25 km from the volcano, which can be associated with a new ascent Of the magma.
• Eruptive ash and gas columns reached ~ 3200 meters above the crater and then spread over more than 40 km in a southerly direction.
• The deformation did not show significant significant changes. Minor variations are recorded in the equipment error range.
• The volcanic gas stream (SO2) reached a maximum of 1574 tonnes / day on April 24th.
Overall, volcanic activity declined slightly from the previous week.

Poas , Costa Rica :
Poas Volcano Activity Report, May 2, 2017, updated at 11:00 AM
Volcanic activity in the last 24 hours of the Poas volcano.
During the last 24 hours, we observed a number of small earthquakes of discrete VTS type on seismograms and tremors of very low amplitude.
In the current Poas volcano eruptions, more short – term eruptions are to be expected. The OVSICORI-A remains vigilant on volcanic activity and will publish periodic reports on the evolution of its behavior and each important changes.
