Turrialba , Costa Rica :
Turrialba volcano recorded three new eruptions on Monday .
19 SEPTEMBER 2016. Three new eruptions occurred at Turrialba volcano on Monday at dawn, according to the National Seismological Network.
The first one happened to be 2:53 am, the second at 3:08 a.m. and a third happened at 5:53 in the morning.
There is a strong smell of sulfur and ash fall in places like Coronado, Guadalupe, Moravia, Tibás and Pavas is reported.
This activity generated a projection of blocks at very high temperature around the active crater, captured by seismometers and thermal camera located in the mountains.
According to the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), winds remain northwestward.
Eruption of Turrialba Volcano launches ash, rocks 4 km high .
19 SEPTEMBER 2016. Eruptive activity at Turrialba Volcano resumed Monday with two new explosions, one of which reached nearly 4,000 meters (13,100 feet) in height, according to reports from the National University (UNA).
The first eruption of Turrialba, located in Cartago province, some 50 kilometers east of San José, occurred at 2:53 a.m. and lasted about 15 minutes.
The explosion launched ashes, gases and incandescent rocks into the air to about 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) above the volcano’s crater, UNA’s Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) reported.
The second explosion occurred at 11:32 a.m. and spewed material about 13,000 feet into the air, the agency said.
OVSICORI volcanologist María Martínez said that after the second explosion, reports were received of ash falling in communities north and west of San José, including Coronado, Moravia, Tibás, Guadalupe, Escazú and as far away as Alajuela province.
A report from the University of Costa Rica’s National Seismological Network (RSN) states that the second explosion lasted about 13 minutes. RSN volcanologist Raul Mora said the explosion also launched a large amount of gas, ash and rocks into the air.
Ashfall over the runways at Juan Santamaría International Airport prompted a temporary closure of the airport at 1:15 p.m.
Silvia Chaves, a spokeswoman for Aeris, the company that operates the airport, said the preventive closure caused the delay of eight departures and four arrivals.
Chavez said the airport will evaluate the reopening of the airport, pending the results of an inspection, later on Monday.
The Aviation Administration also confirmed the temporary closure of Tobías Bolaños Airport, west of San José.
Eruptive activity at Turrialba restarted last Sept. 13, following 44 days of minor events.

Lokon-Empung , Indonésia :
Visually, the activity of Lokon was observed with white smoke emission, thin to thick with a height of about 100-250 meters. The time passing from sunny to rain with a prevailing wind direction towards the north and east with moderate intensity.
Volcanic activity is dominated by shallow volcanic earthquakes (VB), with low intensity. Their highest number was recorded on 1 September 2016 with 20 events. Then they started to decline until September 14, 2016, with an average of 1 shallow volcanic earthquakes / day.
The spectra of seismic amplitude on the graph (Appendix 2), indicating that the current activity of the magma supply to the surface continues to occur, but not significantly. This can be seen on the graph still show a downward trend in recent days.
The inclination at WLN station, showed an increase in the value of the axis Y and the axis X. This indicates the high intensity of the supply of magma to the surface.
The potential eruption risk still exists, but it is not known when or with what intensity.
The danger of eruption of Lokon now comes in the form of volcanic ash that spread depending on the wind direction and speed.
Based on visual observations and seismicity, and the potential threat of eruption of Mount Lokon until 15 September 2016, the level of Mount Lokon activity is at LEVEL II (Waspada).
Intensive monitoring is ongoing in order to evaluate the activities of Mount Lokon. If changes occur significantly in decrease / increase in volcanic activity of Lokon , activity level can be lowered / raised in accordance with the level of threat.

Popocatepetl , Mexico :
September 19, 11:00 h (September 19, 16:00 GMT)
In the last 24 hours the seismic records of the surveillance system at Popocatépetl volcano registered 142 low-intensity exhalations. In addition, yesterday were recorded two explosions at 13:14 and 17:54 pm .
Also, in this period, were recorded intermittent episodes of tremor, in total accounted for 287 minutes. In addition, yesterday at 17:14 h was recorded one event of type VT with magnitudes of 1.3.
At the time of this report is observed the continuous emission of steam and gas further the seismic activity associated with the volcano remains at low levels .
On August 30, with the support of the mexican NAVY, was carried out an overflight to the volcano . It was confirmed that the explosions that took place on 27 and 28 August destroyed the dome 69, built on 1st August. Instead it was an internal crater that has an estimated diameter of 300 meters and a depth of 30 meters. Besides intense degassing which is mainly emitted from the crater floor and walls was observed.
CENAPRED emphasizes that people SHOULD NOT go near the volcano, especially near the crater, due to the hazard caused by ballistic fragments .
This type of activity is included within the scenarios Volcanic Traffic Light Yellow Phase 2.
