Piton de la Fournaise , La Réunion :
The Volcano Observatory recorded since July 6 at 12 o’clock. « an increase in the number of low-intensity earthquakes located below the top of the volcano , at shallow depth (91 earthquakes of magnitude 0.5 to 1 at a depth of about 1,500 m. below the top) and a persistent deformation (inflation ) on the northern edge of the crater.. « Because of the magma ascent in progress , an eruption is probable at more or less short term. The distortions are likely to destabilize the cliff of Dolomieu crater..
In these circumstances, the prefect has decided to implement the alert phase 1 « probable eruption » of the specific device ‘ORSEC volcano , « from that day at 14.00. As a result, the public access to the upper part of the Enclos of the Piton de la Fournaise is prohibited until further notice, either from the path of Pas de Bellecombe or from any other path, and the rest of helicopter in the area. The National Police and the national Office of forests are responsible for ensuring the implementation of these security measures on the site.

Nishinoshima, Japon :
According to the Japan Coast Guard, a new crater erupted on the volcano of Nishino-shima island. Until last Sunday, the eruption was situated on top of a cone of 150 meters. On Monday this crater has stopped issuing gas projections and the activity has moved to a new mouth that opened four hours later on the side NE of the cone . The coastguard think that « the magma has changed his trajectory during its ascent and formed a new crater « .
Nishinoshima: what appears to be a crack and a new crater appeared on the north eastern slopes of the main cone.
The Coast Guard monitors the Nishinoshima Island in the Ogasawara chain islands located about 1,000 km south of Tokyo.
It is good to remember that in November 2013 an underwater eruption was detected off Nishino-shima island and began to give birth to a new island. Lava flows have come together this new land to Nishino-shima and eruptive activity remained constant since then.

Soufrière Hills, Montserrat :
Activity at the Soufrière Hills Volcano remains low. The sulphur-dioxide flux remains elevated and all access to Zone V is suspended for at least another week.
Sulphur-dioxide measurements during the reporting period gave an average flux of 466 tonnes/day with a maximum of 626 and a minimum of 170 tonnes/day. The weekly average is down slightly from 485 last week, but is still elevated compared to the values of less than 300 that were typical prior to the beginning of May 2015.
Given the elevated flux, there is still concern that volcanic activity might occur without warning and that this could affect Zone V. NDPRAC has therefore extended the suspension of all access to Zone V for at least another week.
The seismic network recorded one rockfall and three volcano-tectonic earthquakes this week.
Pyroclastic flows can occur at any time without warning on any side of the volcano, including Gages from where they can travel rapidly into Plymouth. Tracks across the Belham valley are frequently destroyed or heavily modified by flash flooding or lahars, and caution should be exercised crossing the valley during and after rainfall.
