Indonesia , Kerinci :

Level of activity at level II (WASPADA). The Kerinci (3,805 m above sea level) is continuously active. The last eruption occurred on March 30, 2019, resulting in a column height of 600 meters above the summit. We observe that the color of the ash column is gray.

The volcano was clearly visible until it was covered in fog. The main crater was observed to show white / brown smoke with moderate, thick intensity about 50 to 200 meters above the summit. The weather is sunny, with moderate to strong winds in the northeast.

According to the seismographic records of August 8, 2020, it was noted:

53 emission earthquakes
Continuous tremor, amplitude 0.5 to 2 mm (dominant value 1 mm)

Recommendation:

People around Kerinci Volcano and visitors / tourists are not allowed to climb the crater at the top of Kerinci Volcano within 3 km of the active crater (people are prohibited from doing activities within the danger / KRB radius III).
It is best to avoid the flight path around the Kerinci Volcano as at all times it still has the potential for an ash eruption at an altitude that can disrupt the flight path.

VONA: The latest VONA massage received the color code YELLOW, published on August 7, 2020 at 10:24 a.m. WIB. Volcanic ash was observed at an elevation of 4,405 m above sea level or about 600 m above the summit, moving east, south-east and north-east of the region .

Colombia , Nevado del Ruiz :

Manizales, August 8, 2020 (21:15 local time).

Subject: Bulletin of extraordinary activity of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano. The level of yellow activity or (III): changes in the behavior of volcanic activity is maintained.

Regarding the monitoring of the activity of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano, the COLOMBIAN GEOLOGICAL SERVICE reports that:

As of yesterday, August 8, 2020 at 12:50 a.m. (local time), there has been a significant increase in volcano-tectonic seismic activity, associated with fracturing of the rock around the volcanic building. The seismic activity is localized in the West-South-West sector at an average distance of 6.0 km from the Arenas crater. The recording of a volcano-tectonic earthquake occurred at 7:04 a.m. (local time), at a depth of 4.1 km with a magnitude of 3.1 ML (local magnitude), reported as felt by those in charge of the Los Nevados National Natural Park.

The Nevado del Ruiz volcano continues at the yellow activity level. It is not excluded that there is an activity that could indicate an acceleration of the process, implying a greater instability of the volcano and consequently changes in its level of activity. Although the instability of the volcano has lasted for over nine years, it is extremely important not to get used to its behavior and to pay attention to the official information that will be released by the Colombian Geological Survey. It is reiterated to the authorities of the departments of Caldas and Tolima, to take extreme measures focused both on risk reduction processes and disaster management as preparatory measures for the future activity of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano.
It is recommended that the community continue to be aware of any changes that occur in the activity of the volcano.

Mexico , Popocatepetl :

August 07, 11:00 a.m. (August 07, 4:00 p.m. GMT).

During the last 24 hours, according to the monitoring systems of the Popocatépetl volcano, 21 exhalations have been identified, mainly accompanied by water vapor and volcanic gases. Throughout the day, the emissions dispersed towards the western sector (W) of the volcano. Likewise, 327 minutes of low amplitude tremor were recorded.

At the time of this report, emissions of water vapor and gas to the West (W) are observed.

CENAPRED urges NOT TO APPROACH the volcano and especially the crater, because of the danger posed by the fall of ballistic fragments, and in case of heavy rains, to stay away from the bottom of the ravines because of the danger of lava flows. mud and debris.

The Popocatépetl volcanic warning light is at YELLOW PHASE 2.
