A moderate eruptive activity of the volcano continues. A gas-steam plume containing some amount of ash drift to the south-east from the volcano.
Eruptive activity of the volcano continues. Ash explosions up to 26,200-32,800 ft (8-10 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft.

Special report of volcanic activity, 10 July 2017, 18h00 local time.

The National Service of Geology and Mines (Sernageomin) provides the following information, obtained through the monitoring equipment of the National Volcanic Vigilance Network, analyzed by the Observatory of the Southern Andes, a data interpretation center for the Sernageomin:

Following a detailed analysis of the activity on 08 July, it was determined that the Planchon Peteroa volcanic complex is no longer at its base level. Finally, although surface activity did not show any notable changes, the proportional energy of the M4.0 local magnitude hybrid event and its subsequent replicas could affect the volcanic system.

As a result of the above, the technical alert level is changed for the YELLOW level.

Sernageomin will continue on-line monitoring and report in a timely manner on changes that may occur in the volcanic activity of the region.

Sabancaya , Peru :

An increase in explosive activity, with an average of 10 explosions / day, which was greater in reduced displacement value and energy (* DR = 50 cm2) was observed compared to last week. The events related to the circulation of fluids (long period) and the rise of magmatic (hybrid) materials have doubled their level of activity. However, these remain with little energy.
The eruptive columns of gas and ash increased from the previous week, reaching 5500 meters above the crater, spreading over more than 50 km in a north-westerly direction.

The GPS station on the south side of the volcano shows no measurable deformation at this time; The variations that can be observed are millimetric and are within the margin of error of the equipment.

The volcanic gas flow (SO2) is in the range of 216 tonnes / day to 2239 tonnes / day.

Overall volcanic activity showed an increase from the previous week. This type of activity may persist in the next few days.

An eruption began at Bogoslof volcano at 07:47 UTC on July 9 (23:47 AKDT on July 9) lasting about 5 minutes followed 15 minutes later by a second explosion that lasted about 7 minutes. A small ash cloud has been detected in satellite data. Winds are towards the southeast. The Aviation Color Code is upgraded to RED and the Volcano Alert Level to WARNING. Ash trajectory models indicate that a possible trace ash fall could occur on Unalaska, but unlikely to affect Dutch Harbor.

No ash cloud has been detected as of yet in satellite data, but volcanic ash emissions are likely occurring based on infrasound data. Winds are towards the southeast. Ash trajectory models indicate that a possible trace ash fall could occur on Unalaska, but unlikely to affect Dutch Harbor.

Volcanic Activity Summary:
An eruption of Bogoslof volcano began at 1:06 UTC on July 11 (17:06 AKDT on July 10) and lasted about 15 minutes based on seismic data. No volcanic cloud has been observed in satellite data, and no volcanic lightning or infrasound has been detected. Winds are toward the east-southeast.

We are evaluating the magnitude of this eruptive episode.

Following the 15-minute-long explosive eruption that occurred this afternoon July 10 at 17:06 AKDT (1:06 UTC July 11), seismicity as detected on neighboring islands has been quiet and satellite images have shown no significant emissions from the volcano.

Fuego volcano eruption

Type of activity: Vulcanian
Morphology: Composite Stratovolcano
Geographical location: 14 ° 28’54˝Latitude N; 90 ° 52’54˝Longitude W.
Summit : 3,763msnm.

The eruption of the volcano Fuego, in the last few minutes saw its energy increase. Three incandescent sources were observed constantly in the crater, feeding two lava flows 1,900 meters long in the Las Lajas Canyon and 1,500 meters in length, in the Cana Seca or Santa Teresa.

 


The eruption generates loud sounds, such as train locomotive rumblings and shock waves that vibrate the windows and roofs of houses at a distance of 15 kilometers around the volcano. Rumblings are audible at 30 kilometers in the volcanic perimeter.
The eruption ejects columns of ashes to 5,000 m (16,404 feet) that move westward, about 20 kilometers, area that will spread in the next hours. At present, there are ash falls on Morelia, Panimache, Hagia Sophia, El Porvenir, Sangre de Cristo.

Due to the increase in energy, this eruption can generate pyroclastic flows in all the canyons around the volcano, it is extremely dangerous to stay nearby or in the canyons.
