Piton de la Fournaise, La Réunion :

Seismicity:

Following the increase in the number of volcano-tectonic earthquakes observed in the summit craters between mid-July and late July, seismicity returned to a relatively low level in August . During the month of August 2016, the OVPF recorded total:

19 shallow volcano-tectonic earthquakes (0-2 km depth) in the summit craters;
19 local earthquakes (under the island);
449 collapses (in the Dolomieu Crater, at the level of the bulwark of Enclos Fouque and on the flow of August-October 2015).

Deformation: Inflation recorded of the final cone from mid to late July stopped early August. A slight deflation of the order of 2mm is even observed.

Figure 2: Illustration of the deformation in the last six months (the eruption of 26-27 May 2016 is shown in yellow). Is here represented a baseline (distance between two GPS receivers) through the Dolomieu crater from east to west (black raw data in blue smoothed data over a week). An increase is synonymous of elongation and thus , a swelling of the volcano. (© OVPF / IPGP)

Ollague , Chile :

Special volcanic activity report (REAV)
Antofagasta Region. 1 September 2016 23: 30 hours (local time).

The National Service of Geology and Mining (SERNAGEOMIN) describes the following information obtained by the National Network monitoring teams of volcano monitoring, processed and analyzed at the Volcanological Observatory of Southern Andes, interpretation center of SERNAGEOMIN data :
Thursday, September 1, 2016, the monitoring stations near the Ollague volcano, recorded a swarm of tectonic volcano earthquakes (associated with rock fracturing), recorded between 8:54 p.m. local time (11:54 p.m. GMT) and 10:45 p.m. local time (1:45 GMT) with a total of 130 events.
The largest energy event had a local magnitude of M2.5 and was located 2.5 km north-northwest (WNW) of the main crater.

The location obtained was as follows:
ORIGIN TIME: 20: 54 hl (GMT -3)
LATITUDE: 21 ° 16 ‘57′ ‘North, Longitude: 68 ° 1101 « West
DEPTH: 3km
LOCAL MAGNITUDE: 2.5 (ML)

OBSERVATIONS:
At the time of publication of this report, we continue to record events, lower in energy than described above.
The level of technical volcanic alert remains at green.
SERNAGEOMIN continuous online monitoring and report timely to the changes in volcanic activity in the region.

Volcán Ollagüe, also known as Oyahué, is a massive andesitic stratovolcano with a summit dacitic lava dome. A large Pleistocene debris-avalanche deposit extending westward separates the Salar de San Martín from the Salar de Ollagüe. Three youthful-looking silicic lava flows mark late post-collapse eruptions, but show evidence of glaciation and are thought to pre-date the last glacial advance at about 11,000 years ago (Freeley et al., 1993). A youthful-looking scoria cone on the lower WSW flank, La Poruñita, was initially considered to be of Holocene age (González-Ferrán, 1995), however Wörner et al. (2000) later obtained Potassium-Argon dates of 420,000 to 680,000 years. Active sulfur mines on the upper western and southern flanks are reached by a road that climbs to about 5500 m elevation. No historical eruptions have been recorded; activity has been restricted to periods of intense fumarolic activity, and a persistent steam plume emanates from a fumarole on the south side of the summit dome.

Santiaguito , Guatemala :

Conditions: Partly Cloudy
Wind: 5 kmh
Precipitation: 34 mm.

Activity:
There is a abundant degassing from the crater of Caliente Dome.
After a period of calm, an strong explosion vulcanian was once again recorded at 23 hours, generating abundant ash column that moved to the West and the South West , over a distance of 100 kilometers. This morning, were observed some moderate explosions with ash emissions to the West – South – West, over a distance of 30 kilometers. We note ash fall reports in the villages and hamlets of this flank.

It is recommended not to stay around the dome complex.
Rains have intensified in the volcanic region of Santiaguito, generating lahars moderated by  River Nima 1. This phenomenon will be repeated in the coming days because of the amount of material deposited in the canyons around the Santiaguito, so it is necessary to take precautions.

Cerro Machin , Colombie :

Weekly activity report of Cerro Machin volcano.

The level of activity continues:
At  activity level yellow (III): changes in the behavior of volcanic activity.

Regarding the monitoring of the activity of the Cerro Machin volcano, the Colombian Geological Service reports that:

Cerro MACHIN

During the past week, the volcano Cerro Machin recorded low levels of seismic activity, showing a significant decrease from the previous week. This seismic activity has been associated with rock fracturing in the volcanic structure. The seismic events were located in the western part of the main dome and the southwest the volcanic edifice, at depths ranging between 3.2 and 12.7 km. The earthquake of greater magnitude was recorded on August 28 at 00:45 (local time), with a magnitude of 0.4 ML (local magnitude), and was located in the Southwest, 7.9 km from volcanic structure at a depth of 12.7 km.

The Colombian Geological Service closely follows the evolution of the volcanic phenomenon and will continue to report timely to the changes that may occur.
