Popocatepetl, Mexique :

October 12, 12:00 h (October 12, 16:00 GMT)

In the last 24 hours the seismic records of the surveillance system at Popocatépetl volcano registered on one hand 81 low-intensity exhalations. Besides was recorded three explosions yesterday at 11:17 h and today at 03:21 h and 05:58 h .

From 11:00 yesterday was observed a continuous emission of steam, which remained until at least 19:00 h . Later, during the night and early today was observed incandescence the intensity was increased by some episodes .

Additionally, was recorded a small episode of low amplitude tremor that lasted four minutes. Yesterday, was recorded an event of type (VT ) at 16:53 h, with a preliminary magnitude of 1.9

Since this morning and until this report has been a slight emission of steam , gas and sometimes slight amounts of ash . Other monitoring parameters remain unchanged .

CENAPRED emphasizes that people SHOULD NOT go near the volcano, especially near the crater, due to the hazard caused by ballistic fragments .

This type of activity is included within the scenarios Volcanic Traffic Light Yellow Phase 2.

Tungurahua, Equateur :

Updated: 7:25 TL – 12 October 2015

After aneruptive activity of strombolian style , which was observed yesterday between 19h00 and 21h00 TL, the Tungurahua volcano has shown a decrease in the level of energy released. In addition, three discrete explosions occurred at 20h15, 21h10 and 22h48 TL. All were small to moderate in size, with light acoustic wave generated that set into vibration the windows in neighboring regions.

This morning, some seismic events can be recorded, of low amplitude. Overnight and this morning it was not received reports of ash falls   or sounds.

The volcano is cloudy, but there is a fine layer of snow in the higher parts of the cone. In addition there was the rain that washed the pastures of the entire region of the ash accumulated yesterday afternoon   since the start of the reactivation of the volcano , at 13.40 .

Piton de la Fournaise , La Réunion :

The current eruption continues.

On the morning of Tuesday, October 13 (7:00 to the fifty-first day of eruption) the eruption which began on 24 August is continuing. The weather, at 7:00 this morning on the top of the volcano is completely cleared, only the large slope area (much lower than eruption) are covered.

The level of activity remains high and comparable to that in previous days. However a slight tendency to decrease in activity was recorded in the last days (see detailed bulletin of 9 October). To recall, in eruptive phase and no major change in the activity or in the recorded signals, the  frequency of detailed bulletins of the Observatory is one by week.

After four eruptive episodes, the crisis will leave two quite remarkable lava mounds for them to are appointed. The eruptions of 2015 have not enlarged the area of Reunion but already let two eruptive cones that it will soon be baptized.
The current eruption, remarkable for its duration and intensity, is also by the new decor it will leave behind.

The Piton Bert curious have noticed in recent days, the eruptive cone now reached an impressive size. The numerical precision is given by the Observatory of Piton de la Fournaise. By crossing aerial photo and trigonometric calculation, the current eruption cone is 35 meters high. No doubt, it will be named shortly.
Nicolas Villeneuve, director of the OVPF, said that the event is rare. This is the first time since 2007 that a peak will be named. The latest is the Piton Tremblet. This is the former director Thomas Staudacher who had had the privilege of baptizing the mound formed by lava 8 years ago.
